File Associations

Evening all.

Last night at the meeting, Audry told us of her problem she had when trying to open up saved email (*.eml) files. When she opened them they opened in Thunderbird instead of her desired Outlook Express.

Marcel explained that this was to do with the files being 'associated' with Thunderbird. He then went on to show us how to change the 'association' so the file would open with the desired program.

I borrowed Spike's "Easy Windows XP" book and scanned the 'file association' pages to put on the blog for reference.

Click on the pictures to see them full size.

I appologise to the slooooooow dial up people for the file sizes, but unfortunately if I made them too small, you wouldn't be able to read them.

Cheers
Marty

Good one Marty. I got mine sorted. It's good to have the info. on the Blog for reference.

Agreed, that's great, Marty. I think it, including the pictures, should remain on the blog, as Audrey suggests.
Still with extensions but to cope with a different problem; that of getting a file with an unknown extension. Go to.
