Picasa - Updating The Database.

No, Picasa doesn't eat your pictures!

Picasa is a photo viewing program with some limited editing facilities. It scans your computer and creates a database with all your photos arranged for conveniant viewing. It doesn't actually store the photos anywhere, they are just where you saved them to. The easiest way to find them is to open 'My Documents' and hopefully your photos will be in their relevant folder in 'My Pictures' where you put them. By hopefully I mean that hopefully you put them in 'My Pictures' and not some random and obscure place such as Windows/System or something!!!!! LOL (Larf out loud).

Mrs Gilmore had a problem when she put new photos on her computer and then opened up Picasa to have a look at them. They wern't there ... eaten!

Herein lies the problem. Picasa needs to update it's database regularly to find any new piccies that have arrived on the 'puter. If the database is not updated, you wont see the new photos on Picasa.

To get Picasa to update the database automatically, start up Picasa and click on Tools/Folder Manager.

In the next window, as you select each folder you are likely to put pictures in, tick the Scan Always (the eyeball) button on the right. When you have done all relevant folders, click OK.

Close Picasa then start it up again and it should scan the folders you selected and update itself with any new pictures you have saved to your machine.

Hope this is of assistance.
