Avril got on to the blog she wanted to know about copying a DVD. She posted it as a comment at Hermans post about dumping old computers so that is why I am just putting it out here more in the open.
She finds that when she copies a DVD it takes ages and does not work.
I usually copy the files of the original DVD to a temporary folder and then write those files to a DVD. It seems to work easier then using the DVD writing program to do it.
Any other suggestions

Hi Averil, could you tell us which copying program you are using and how you use it? Marcel's method is fine for copying files across but does not make an exact copy.
In Nero, set it to DVD, then DVD copy. Leave the other settings as the defaults unless there is a known reason to change them and click copy. The original DVD must be in the drive and if you have 2 drives the blank DVD can be in the other drive. With a single drive an image file is written to the Hard Disk first, you are prompted to remove the original and insert the blank and the image is copied to it and then deleted. Other programs will be similar. Some music and film DVDs are copy protected. This can sometimes be circumvented using other software.
Me again. At present Averil can only make comments, not new posts as she hasn't got Author's rights
