Eday Success

I managed to get all our E junk to the depot at the A and P grounds in Christchurch, it was well organised like last year.
I took 6 monitors including one lcd, 7 computers, 8 printers, a fax machine and bits an pieces speakers, keyboards. mice cables.
All was unloaded and sorted. Total for the country was 966 tons and 16.000 car loads.
Christchurch 1069 cars and 69 ton, well done.

Have just arrived home with my new Toshiba Laptop and cannot connect to the internet.
I plugged the phone cable into the LAN socket but it can't find the modem and I get the error 797 message.
What can I try?
We have been through the clear set up.

Monitor screen colour

F.lux is a freeware program that adjusts the color of your screen depending on the time of day. So at night, F.lux makes the screen look warmer and less glaringly blue than during the day. The end result is a screen that is much easier on the eyes.

F.lux works by changing the color temperature of your display. The default setting is 3400K for night and 6500K for daytime. This can affect color sensitive work such as editing digital photographs but there is a disable switch that allows you to turn F.lux off.

Vista Premium

Help needed for the purchase of my new laptop.

Can I run Office 2000 on Vista Premium or do I need to buy Office 2007 as suggested by the sales person?

Do I need to buy anti virus (Nortons, NOD32) and fire walls or can I get good enough free ones off the web?
